The Importance of a Positive Mental Attitude

Achieving success with a nutrition based weight loss program is far more than just following information: its about getting into the right state of mind.

Actions are governed by thoughts … thoughts create reality.

Therefore, it is imperative that you create the right mental environment.

You must create a strong, positive foundation that will help you achieve your weight loss goals and improved health objectives.

To effectively lose weight you must clear your mind of much of the media misinformation and hype that bombard you everyday. Don’t believe everything you hear from the so called “health guru’s” and “nutrition experts” that constantly parade themselves on TV, on the radio and in magazines and books. Forget all the useless crash diets” that you’ve tried … and failed with, and remember that the quickest way to lose weight is not by starving yourself!

If old habits keep bringing you back to the same place … overweight, unhealthy, and unhappy … then recognize that the time has come to change your LIFESTYLE.

– You must learn to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.

– You CAN change your habits.

– You CAN feel great!

– You CAN change the state of your health and weight.

Forget all the past failed diets, this is a NEW DAY, a new approach, a new beginning.

Make no mistake about it, you will come across “doubting Thomas’s” who will try to sabotage your efforts, generally in an attempt to make themselves feel better. You are going to hear comments like “oh … just one won’t kill you” or “eating like that is no way to live”.

Well, feeling bad about yourself, jeopardizing your health by carrying excess weight, being unable to keep up with your children (or grandchildren) in certain activities, because of your weight is no way to live either.

Truly believe in your new way of life and what your doing for yourself … don’t let ANYBODY tell you otherwise!

Similarly, you need to free yourself from negative thinking. If you’ve thought before “what’s the use … I’ll only gain the weight back again anyway” … STOP!

Your still playing the “dieting game”. These type of thoughts are the old you … not the new person who from this moment on will replace each negative thought with a positive one.

Every time you find yourself thinking “I’m going to fail again” immediately eradicate that thought and replace it with “I know that if I make lifestyle changes and change my eating habits, my health will improve”. Repeat this statement five times a day.

Positive affirmations are very effective.

They get you into the right mind set and help you to feel your best.

The more often you repeat them the better you feel. Try them when your getting ready for work in the morning, while your driving, at night before you go to bed and so on. Make no mistake about it, positive affirmations make you feel good and motivate you to stick to your new major life priority … to quickly lose weight!

Try these affirmations … you will begin to feel positive about yourself and more confident that your efforts to quickly lose weight will be successful.

Here’s another great tip.

Think about your biggest accomplishment to date.

What did it take to achieve that goal?

Months of overtime to make yourself eligible for that job promotion?

Countless hours helping your child learn a new skill?

Years of practice to become successful at a sport or hobby?

Yes … accomplishment does require a great deal of work, commitment and dedication.

Similarly, achieving your health and lifestyle goals will require hard work.

But as you know from experience … the results are certainly worth it!
